  • US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said during an interview on CBS

Nikki Haley, the USA ambassador to the United Nations, said on Sunday that any woman who has felt violated or mistreated by a man has every right to speak up, even if she is accusing President Donald Trump. "And I think we heard from them prior to the election", Ms Haley said in an appearance on current affairs TV programme Face the Nation.

"They should be heard, and they should be dealt with", Haley added.

"I think any woman who has felt violated or felt mistreated in any way, they have every right to speak up", she said.

When asked to assess similar allegations of misconduct leveled against President Trump during the 2016 campaign, Haley replied, "Women who accuse anyone should be heard".

Speaking on CBS's "Face the Nation," Haley was asked by moderator John Dickerson about the cultural reckoning that is happening on the issue of sexual harassment and assault, including the recent resignations of three members of Congress who have been accused of sexual misconduct.

The White House did not respond to a request for comment about the latest allegation, but the President has rejected the allegations against him as false and branded the women liars.

Trump was elected to the highest office despite a flurry of women accusing the NY billionaire of sexual misconduct and Trump himself boasting about grabbing women's genitals on an "Access Hollywood" tape.

"I want the Security Council and all of the worldwide community to understand: when you bully Israel, you are not helping the peace process", she said. "And look, for the last 22 years, everyone around every president has said, 'Just wait, just wait, just wait.' And President Trump's not going to wait anymore", said Haley, calling the president's decision a "courageous" one. "I didn't vote for Roy Moore, but I wrote in a distinguished Republican name, and I think a lot of people could do that".

Despite accusations against Moore, Trump endorsed the controversial Republican candidate ahead of Tuesday's election. Moore has repeatedly denied the allegations.

"The same thing: It's women who accuse anyone should be heard", she said. I know that he was elected.

"No president - not Clinton, not Bush, not Obama - had the courage to make that move and listen to the will of the American people", she told host Jake Tapper.

Responding to a question on the Arab League, she said the U.S. had a lot more in common with the grouping than they have ever had before.
