  • PSA Airlines which is wholly owned by American Airlines was forced to cancel about 70 more flights on Sunday evening affecting schedules through Monday morning

These cancellations come after 120 PSA flights were canceled out of Charlotte on Thursday evening - which has snowballed into cancelations, delays and all sorts of issues throughout the weekend.

PSA Airlines, an American Airlines regional carrier, is canceling roughly 70 flights out of Charlotte for Sunday evening and through Monday morning.

Another glitch has impacted flights at Charlotte Douglas airport.

American Airlines confirmed it was experiencing another technical issue with PSA, but had yet to elaborate on what that means.

Less than a week after a regional carrier for American Airlines was forced to cancel hundreds of flights out of Charlotte due to a "technical issue" - and days after service was reportedly restored - the same problems appear to be flaring back up again. "This issue is not affecting any of our other regional carriers or mainline flights", the carrier added.

NBC affiliate WCNC reports the canceled flights stranded thousands of people at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

"There are always delays, but not like this", said Sheila Petersen, a passenger. To better control the flow of PSA aircraft to Charlotte, a ground stop has been issued until 3 p.m. ET.

Some flights headed to Charlotte were held at airports across the country.

The airline released a statement Sunday evening stating their intention to rebook passengers and have their customer relations department reach out to all affected customers, according to WBTV.
