"I think he has done a bad job on crime, if you look, all of the awful things going on there, with all of the crime that is being brought in".

UK Prime Minister Theresa May published the long-awaited White Paper on Britain's future relationship with the EU.

At its heart is a proposal for a new Britain-EU "free trade area", with interlinked customs regimes, and identical regulations for industrial goods and agri-food.

May's "business-friendly" Brexit plan would keep Britain in a free trade zone for goods with the European Union but mean it had to accept some European Union rules.

"He is thankful for the wonderful welcome from the Prime Minister here in the U.K".

"If they do a deal like that, we would be dealing with the European Union instead of dealing with the United Kingdom, so it will probably kill the deal", Trump told the paper.

"When a deal takes so long, they never work out very well", Trump said hours before meeting May for dinner.

It also moots the idea of developing new arrangements for technologies such as artificial intelligence, noting that they are vulnerable to non-tariff barriers.

Trump noted that recent cabinet resignations in May's administration stemmed from opposition to her plan, which is seen by critics as keeping the government too closely aligned with the European Union - after Brits voted to operate their own independent economy starting eight months from now.

"The UK is going to be in the back of the queue (in the event of a UK departure from the EU)". "That is exactly what we will do".

US President Donald Trump arrives in United Kingdom for four-day visit
When the United Kingdom leaves the EU, May said that "there will be no alliance more important in the years ahead", the BBC noted. The controversial 45th President of the United States will visit the UK for the first time in his position on Thursday, July 12.

The proposal comes days after senior ministers resigned from the cabinet against Prime Minister Theresa May's plans for what is being called as "soft-Brexit" as opposed to many of her ruling party colleagues, who have campaigned for "hard-Brexit". "I am just saying I think he would be a great prime minister".

"You know I've been reading a lot on Brexit over the last couple of days and its seems to be turning a little bit differently where they're getting at least partially involved back with the European Union", he said.

Khan gave protesters permission to fly the 20-foot-tall balloon depicting Trump as an angry baby in a diaper.

Trump's comments will plunge the transatlantic "special relationship" to new lows, making for extremely awkward talks with May.

Trump's interview easily could overshadow the government's attempt to lay out plans for what it calls a "principled and pragmatic" Brexit.

Britain is now part of the EU's single market - which allows for the frictionless flow of goods and services among the 28 member states - and its tariff-free customs union for goods.

Under the blueprint, Britain would stick to a "common rulebook" with the European Union for goods and agricultural products in return for free trade, without tariffs or border customs checks. Such a resolution would avoid disruption to automakers and other manufacturers that source parts from multiple countries. Johnson was slightly more diplomatic in his resignation letter, warning May that Britain was "headed for the status of a colony" within the EU.

Free trade would not apply to services, which account for 80 per cent of the British economy.

Existing frameworks for equivalence would need to be expanded "to reflect the fact that equivalence as it exists today is not sufficient in scope for the breadth of the interconnectedness of UK-EU financial services provision", it added.

Conservative MP Jacob Rees-Mogg, the chair of the European Research Group of Tory Eurosceptics said: "It is a pale imitation of the paper prepared by David Davis, a bad deal for Britain".
