In his first public statement since his WTF presser following his summit With Russian ruler/former KGB officer Vladimir Putin, President Donald Trump tweeted this he has "GREAT confidence in MY intelligence people" - not clear why he all-capped "my" - but can not liveexclusively on the past.

On the topic of Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential election, Trump said he "directly" addressed the issue with Putin, saying he felt it was "a message best delivered in person". Special counsel Robert Mueller is investigating possible links between Trump campaign associates and Russian Federation as part of his probe into Moscow's attempts to interfere in the 2016 election.

During the joint press conference, Trump praised the summit as a success, said it resulted in "deeply productive dialogue" and complimented Putin as "a good competitor". "We are the two great nuclear powers, we have 90 percent of the nuclear".

A lot of the questions focused on Russia's intrusion into the USA election campaign (the considered position of the key USA intelligence agencies) and specifically the indictment by the Mueller probe of 12 Russian intelligence agents. "And that's not a good thing, it's a bad thing, and I think we can hopefully do something about that".

Trump deflected responsibility for confronting Moscow, saying in tweets and interviews that former President Barack Obama had done nothing to prevent the hacks of Democratic email accounts or to punish the Russians afterward.

Moscow released the incendiary footage during this year's Russian election campaign to flaunt its latest stockpile of nuclear weapons. John Cornyn, had warned the president to be wary of Putin. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), the Senate's top Democrat.

"Yeah, I did heard these rumors that these allegedly collected compromising material on Mr. Trump when he was visiting Moscow", he said. Relations have further degraded over Putin's support for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in his country's civil war, and a nerve-agent poisoning this year of a former Russian spy living in Britain that the United Kingdom government has pinned on Moscow.
