Republicans' bulwark around President Donald Trump could be imperiled this fall, Rep. Devin Nunes appeared to warn in a secretly recorded audio tape, if Democrats are able to seize control of the House of Representatives in November's midterm elections.

Nunes, an ally of Trump's who helped on the president's transition team, recused himself from presiding over the investigation after questions arose regarding his handling of classified information.

And I say that because you have to, so we only have so many months left, right?

"We have to keep the majority", he adds.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller has been investigating Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and whether there was any collusion with the Trump campaign. That's why I keep-thank you for saying that, by the way-we have to keep all these, we have to keep the majority.

House Speaker Paul D. Ryan, R-Wis., has said he opposes the effort to impeach Rosenstein, but the party's most conservative members in the House have indicated they will push the issue again as soon as September. "The question is the timing of it right before the election".

Saudi Arabia, the UAE and their allies in the Arab Coalition intervened in the conflict at the request of Mr Hadi's government. The attack on Jazan was the second ballistic missile fired at Saudi Arabia by the Iran-backed rebels this week.

He said everything would have to be dropped if impeachment was up for a vote.

McMorris Rodgers can be heard briefly interjecting into Nunes' discussion of potential impeachment proceedings, but hasn't said publicly that she would support removing Rosenstein. "Which is really the danger... we have to keep all these seats". "I don't think we should be cavalier with this process or term".

Nunes' office did not immediately return a request for comment today, but his spokesman Jack Langer told The Hill newspaper that "these are sensible ideas. It's a matter of timing".

Nunes has been a vocal supporter of Trump, and his oversight of the House Intel Committee's own Russian Federation probe was widely seen as a counter-investigation to Mueller's inquiry - largely because of Nunes' belief that some prosecutors on Mueller's team were politically biased against the president.

"If [Jeff] Sessions won't un-recuse, and Mueller won't clear the president, we're the only ones", Nunes said, according to the audio. "But ultimately let's say the Portuguese came and brought her some stolen emails, and she chose to release those". Because somebody stole the emails, gave them to Cathy, Cathy released them.
