  • Jimmy Kimmel shuts down Kanye West's love for Donald Trump

Mean Tweets returned to Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday night, and rappers ranging from Lil Wayne to 50 Cent to Eve to Logic to A$AP Rocky to Awkwafina lined up to recite the worst and funniest insults lobbed at them via Twitter.

West has long expressed personal support for Trump (not to be confused with agreeing with his policies, apparently).

"Well, he's a player", West said, right after laughing.

Kimmel acknowledged Kanye's statements, but had his own thoughts on the matter.

"I think that's a attractive thought but just in literal terms, there are families being torn apart at the border of this country", Kimmel said, referring to Trump's zero tolerance immigration policy.

"There are literally families being torn apart as a result of what this president is doing". There are literally families being torn apart as a result of what this president is doing [.] We can not forget that.

Tottenham first Premier League team to fail to make one summer signing
Pep Guardiola's side won the top-flight crown for the first time under the Spanish head coach last season with 19 points to spare. Fast forward three months and the north Londoners are under-fire from their fans after failing to make a single signing.

"You so famously and so powerfully said, 'George Bush doesn't care about black people, '" Kimmel said. "I enjoy when people are mad at me about certain things". Seemingly at a loss for words, Kanye briefly went silent for a few seconds, as the show cut to a commercial break.

West's admiration for Trump - which appears to stem from an appreciation that of the businessman's unlikely ascent to the presidency - contrasts with his previous views on Republican presidents, namely George W. Bush. After reading the dig, "50 Cent is a moron and needs to be kicked in the BALLSACK", he calmly said, "I don't think anyone deserves to be kicked in the ball sack". Trump commuted Johnson's sentence in June after Kardashian West pleaded her case.

Later, Kimmel asked West about his bipolar diagnosis, and if he feels it's part of what makes him "brilliant".

Kimmel also asked about the rapper's mental health, alluding to the song "I Thought About Killing You" and the quote on the album's cover art.

"I'm into designing", said West with a wry smile.
