Une chaîne de télévision a diffusé les images d'un mari battant son épouse.

Elle s'appelait Tatiana Spitzner, elle avait 29 ans, et elle est en train de devenir un symbole. Les images, diffusées le 5 août à la télévision brésilienne sont celles des différentes caméra de surveillance qui ont filmé la scène, à l'exception de sa chute.

Tatiana Spitzner fait une chute de quatre étages. Après l'avoir battu, jusqu'au sang, durant plus d'une demi-heure. La révélation de la mort de cette avocate, qui aurait été poussée du quatrième étage d'un bâtiment par son mari, a entraîné des manifestations à Curitiba (sud du Brésil) et attiré l'attention sur l'augmentation du nombre des violences faites aux femmes dans le pays. Le taux de féminicide y est de 4,8 pour 100.000, l'un des plus élevés au monde. Une réalité qui a soulevé une vague d'indignation énorme au Brésil, et dans le monde entier.

La famille de Tatiane, via sa soeur Luana, a désormais fait de la lutte contre les violences conjugales sa principale raison d'être.

L'enquête sur les circonstances de la mort de Tatiane Spitzner est en cours. Son mari la traîne dans l'habitacle de force et la frappe. Violences que la justice et les différents gouvernements maintiennent en les occultant, en véhiculant des valeurs réactionnaires, en coupant qui plus est les aides pour les femmes victimes de violences de genre, en précarisant les femmes et les soumettant ainsi au joug de leur mari.
