Rafael Nadal ne verra pas l'Asie cette saison. Le n.1 mondial est lentement en train de se rétablir de la blessure au genou droit qui le hante depuis la demi-finale de l'US Open face à Juan Martin del Potro.

Rafael Nadal a annoncé qu'il ne disputera pas les prochains tournois à Pékin et à Shanghai en raison de sa blessure au genou droit. A court terme, sa place de n°1 mondial n'est pas menacée puisqu'il possède 1860 points d'avance sur Roger Federer, qui devra de son côté défendre les 1000 points de sa victoire à Shanghai.

Nadal va ainsi perdre les 1100 points conquis l'an passé avec sa victoire à Pékin, et sa défaite en finale en Shanghai.
