Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker revealed in director Todd Phillips’s Instagram post

Now, the movie's director has tweeted out the first footage of Phoenix in full Joker make-up and. well. you should see for yourself. Though the choice to have a look similar to that of Cesar Romero's Joker shows that this Clown Prince of Crime won't be dipping from just one source of inspiration.

The clip, set to Laughing by The Guess Who, shows an unassuming Flack standing around while images of the Joker flash across him.

The Joker gig didn't work out all that well for Jared Leto, who was met with a pretty lukewarm reception for playing the role in Suicide Squad, and now it's the turn of Joaquin Phoenix. I'm surprised that we received this look so early on during production, but leaks were likely imminent as filming is well underway.
