Google conteste la condamnation de la Commission européenne — Android

En juillet dernier, Google a écopé d'une amende record de 4,34 milliards d'euros en Europe au sujet d'Android.

Un porte-parole de Google a dit mercredi que la société a décidé de s'adresser au Tribunal de l'Union européenne, soit le deuxième plus haut tribunal du bloc.

Le montant de cette amende avait battu tous les records. Une procédure qui vient seulement d'être officiellement engagée, comme l'indique le Wall Street Journal, et ce quelques jours seulement avant la fin du délai de 90 jours laissé à Google pour mettre un terme à ses pratiques jugées abusives.

Cet été, la Commission européenne a notamment accusé Google d'exiger des fabricants de smartphones qu'ils pré-installent le moteur de recherche de Google et son navigateur Chrome comme condition à l'octroi d'une licence pour proposer le Google Play Store et ainsi permettre aux utilisateurs de télécharger des applications. La Commission l'avait également accusé d'avoir a payé certains grands fabricants et certains grands opérateurs de réseaux mobiles pour qu'ils préinstallent en exclusivité l'application Google Search sur leurs appareils. Enfin, elle avait accusé Google d'avoir empêché les fabricants souhaitant préinstaller les applications Google de vendre ne serait-ce qu'un seul appareil mobile intelligent fonctionnant sur d'autres versions d'Android non approuvées par Google.

Le PDG de Google, Sundar Pichai, avait annoncé dès juillet que le groupe ferait appel de sa condamnation.

D'après Reuters, en raison de la complexité de l'affaire, l'appel pourrait mettre des années avant d'être jugé.
