  • Melania Trump On Me Too: We Should Support Men, 'Not Just Women'

Although she supports women, she details how men need to be supported as well.

First Lady Melania Trump spoke out about the #MeToo movement, saying victims of sexual assault "need to have really hard evidence" if they are going to make accusations. "I support the women, and they need to be heard", she explained.

"If you accuse (someone) of something, show the evidence", Trump said in a sit-down interview with ABC News that took place in Kenya last week during her first major solo trip to Africa.

ABC News' Chief National Affairs Correspondent Tom Llamas sat down with the first lady for a wide-ranging interview during her first solo trip overseas to Africa earlier this month.

The revelation came when Llamas asked Trump what surprised her about being First Lady.

Melania Trump says her husband's politics are hurting her attempts to partner with aid organizations. We need to support them.

Asked if that means she thinks accused men have been unfairly treated, she said the accused have to provide proof to be believable.

The one-on-one special, "Being Melania - The First Lady", airs Friday at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.

Judge Kavanaugh and Mr Trump have both denied the allegations against them. "They don't have any facts", she had said. Echoing her husband and Republicans who have accused the press of eagerly reporting stories of misconduct without evidence, Trump added that "sometimes the media goes too far".

But, after bringing it up herself, she refused Llamas' request to provide what you might call hard evidence, by naming some examples.
