‘Narcos: Mexico’ Trailer Explores the Birth of Mexico’s Drug War

The official trailer for Narcos: Mexico is here, and the tone is rather different from the first three seasons of the drug cartel drama.

In the exciting sneak peek, Luna's ruthless drug lord Félix Gallardo is seen rocking perfectly feathered hair while bludgeoning one unlucky man to death-a sign that he's not to be trifled with.

In the first three seasons of the show, the drama had unfolded in Colombia, but this time Michael Peña (DEA agent Kiki Camarena) and Diego Luna (Félix Gallardo) will play the cat-and-mouse chase in Mexico.

A new, full-length trailer for Netflix's Narcos: Mexico reveals the spin-off will delve into the origins of the US-led war against drugs in Mexico. As Kiki gathers intelligence on Gallardo, he quickly realizes that this assignment is more challenging than he could have ever imagined. Originally set to return for Season 4, the series has instead come back as Narcos: Mexico, which Netflix is billing as Season 1 of a new spinoff series. Eric Newman is executive producer and showrunner. Set to Sugarhill Gang's "White Lines", the new action-packed trailer finds the ambitious Felix (aka "Rockefeller of marijuana") travel to Colombia as he looks to expand his empire by entering the cocaine business.

The first two seasons, which were aired in 2015 and 2016 respectively, focused on the rise and fall of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar.
