Brussels is working on a "special objective vehicle" (SPV) - a system for clearing payments to Iran - as it seeks to keep trade flowing despite Washington reimposing sanctions after ditching the 2015 nuclear deal with Tehran.

In May, US President Donald Trump announced that the United States would withdraw from the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), known as the nuclear deal, and re-impose its sanctions against Iran that had been lifted under the agreement.

British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt will visit Iran today for talks on the worldwide agreement aimed at curbing Iran's nuclear programme. United Nations monitors say Iran still abides by the deal, in which it agreed to limit its uranium enrichment in return for the lifting of worldwide sanctions. He will hold talks with the Iranian government on the future of the nuclear deal, Iran's role in the conflicts in Syria and Yemen, and the ongoing cases of detained British-Iranian dual nationals.

In a statement ahead of his visit to Tehran, Hunt called the nuclear deal "a vital component of stability in the Middle East".

The Foreign Secretary called on its hardline Islamic regime to release people including charity worker Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, now jailed on what are widely regarded as trumped-up spying charges.

On Yemen, Hunt was to stress concerns at reports that Iran has supplied ballistic missiles and weapons to the Huthi rebels, his ministry said.

Japan's "amateur" players were earning £14 (2,000 Yen) per day, whereas their England counterparts received £25,000 per match. Soon afterwards, England were a man down when George was yellow-carded for killing the ball.

"It (the nuclear deal) needs 100 percent compliance though to survive", the British foreign secretary stressed, according to Reuters.

Iranian state TV said Hunt would also meet Ali Shamkhani, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, suggesting that talks over the fate of Zaghari-Ratcliffe were likely.

Cuba hopes a special payment system the European Union is creating to get round U.S. sanctions on Iran will help it sidestep its own Washington-imposed trade embargo, a senior official told AFP on Monday.

"So I arrive in Iran with a clear message for the country's leaders: putting innocent people in prison can not and must not be used as a tool of diplomatic leverage".

"But we also need to see an end to destabilizing activity by Iran in the rest of the region if we are going to tackle the root causes of the challenges the region faces".
