Tout s'est passé comme prévu, ce lundi 26 novembre 2018, une précision parfaite, aprés que l'Équipe Nissan e Dams qui dispute le Championnat des Monoplaces Électriques de la Formule e, ait tout d'abord annoncé la libération de son pilote le Thaïlandais Alexander Albon, avant que dans la foulée, la Scuderia Italienne Toro Rosso, ne révèle officiellement sa venue et son arrivée à Faenza. Le jeune pilote devrait vraisemblablement faire ses grands débuts en Formule 1, au sein de l'écurie Toro Rosso, aux côtés de Daniil Kvyat.

Alexander Albon, alors âgé de 10 ans, avait reçu un trophée des mains de Lewis Hamilton en mars 2007.

A noter qu'Albon, troisième de la F2 cette année, a été membre du Red Bull Junior Team en 2012, avant d'en être évincé.

"Alexander a fait une saison de Formule 2 impressionnante en 2018".

Né à Londres il y a 22 ans, Albon, qui a également été vice-champion de GP3 en 2016, dispose des nationalités britannique et thaïlandaise. Il a gagné quatre courses et terminé 3 du Championnat.
