A nine-year-old boy from a small, wintry town in Colorado was able to throw his first (legal) snowball at his younger brother after he convinced council leaders to repeal a almost century-old ban on snowball fights.

Dane Best said he made a decision to take on local authorities and persuade them to change the law by using simple logic.

"I said, 'I'm not going to fight to change the law".

Dane Best took on the Severance town board and argued that snowballs encouraged children to get outside to play. "I want to be able to throw a snowball without getting in trouble". He also convinced his friends to write letters of support for their shared cause in defending their God-given snowball-warrior rights.

"Research suggests that a lack of exposure to the outdoors can lead to obesity, ADHD, anxiety and depression."

Putin says Russian Federation 'satisfied' with oil at US$60
The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) plus Russian Federation and other allies meet on December 6-7. Wise stated that that would depend on the severity of cuts adopted by OPEC and its allies.

Dane Best, who lives in the often snow-swept town of Severance, presented his arguments at a town board meeting Monday night, and members voted unanimously to lift the ban.

Dane's mother, Brooke Best, told The Greeley Tribune her son had been talking about snowballs since he found out about a month and a half ago that it was illegal to throw them within town limits.

The town's mayor, Don McLeod, gave Dane the honour of throwing the first legal snowball in the town's history.

Further bolstering his position, Dane presented the board members with 20 letters from his classmates, urging officials to overturn the almost century-old ban.
