  • The vast accumulation of wealth at the top is matched by inordinate concentrations of political power

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY, a self-proclaimed democratic socialist, has come under fire after it was revealed that her campaign was fined by the state for not providing workers' compensation coverage for a month past year.

A spokeswoman for the NY state Workers' Compensation Board, Melissa Stewart, said Friday that Ocasio-Cortez's Democratic campaign lacked coverage from March 31 to April 30.

"This coverage is vital to ensuring workers are protected for on-the-job injuries", Stewart said.

At least if people like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are going to tell the rest of us how to live our lives and how we should treat others, she needs to take a long, hard look in the mirror.

GOP spokeswoman Jessica Proud called the news "hypocrisy at its finest". "She doesn't understand how the place works yet".

Veterans of the Democratic establishment, unsettled by Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's lack of deference to seniority and party unity, have cautioned the freshman lawmaker to direct her potent social-media attacks toward Republicans rather than centrist Democrats.

"I can not tell you the amount of dysfunction that this president is advancing", she said on MSNCB following the address, as reported by The Daily Wire.

The 29-year-old, who shockingly bested incumbent New York Rep. Joe Crowley in a June Democratic congressional primary, was recently in the news for giving a wild response to President Donald Trump's Wednesday Oval Office address to the nation.

How did Ocasio-Cortez respond?

"With all respect, I certainly hope she's not the future and I don't believe she is", he said. "She's gotten a lot of attention because she's different".

"In private conversations with Ocasio-Cortez over the past few months, Velázquez counseled Ocasio-Cortez against targeting her Democratic colleagues in future elections", Politico reported.
