Tottenham Hotspur's prospects of winning a first trophy under their manager Mauricio Pochettino this season suffered a significant blow yesterday when the club ruled out Harry Kane for at least two months with an injury.

The 25-year-old is Tottenham's top scorer this season with 20 goals in 31 appearances in all competitions.

That makes it likely that Kane will miss Tottenham's league matches against Fulham, Watford, Newcastle United and Leicester City. They play the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final at Stamford Bridge next Thursday, with the final on 24 February.
