According to The Hollywood Reporter, Legendary has hired Oren Uziel to write the script for a second Detective Pikachu. The plot details are still under wraps. The AR app Pokemon Go capitalized on the craze a couple years ago and became a sensation in its own right, allowing fans to capture creatures and train them on their phones, depending on their real world location. But, given the reception to the first trailer, Detective Pikachu will nearly certainly be a success from a box office viewpoint. Detective Pikachu is a bit of a different beast, transplanting the beloved character into a comedy mystery where he's a skilled investigator who aspires to be a detective. His name has also been seen on a future Supergirl film planned for Warner Bros., as well as the upcoming movies Sonic the Hedgehog and Men in Black International. His past credits include writing and directing "Shimmer Lake", and penning "The Cloverfield Paradox" and "22 Jump Street".
