Student dies after eating leftover pasta warmed up in microwave

After midnight, he fell asleep.

He was found dead next morning at 11:00 am by his parents.

Professor Bernard claims AJ's death was the result of food poisoning from Bacillus Cereus combined with an "overdose" of stomach medicines causing AJ's liver to fail.

Although the AJ passed away in 2008, the case has been bought to the public's attention once again after being featured in the Journal of Clinical Microbiology.

It is believed that the 20-year-old, from Brussels in Belgium, microwaved the pasta five days after it was initially cooked.

"Although we can not incriminate B cereus as the direct and unique cause of death, the present case illustrates the severity of the emetic and diarrhoeal syndromes and the importance of adequate refrigeration of prepared food", he said.

Public Health England states that the spores of some Bacillus bacteria can survive cooking and "subsequently germinate and grow under favorable conditions, particularly in warm kitchens".

"Although we can not incriminate B cereus as the direct and unique cause of death, the present case illustrates the severity of the emetic and diarrheal syndromes and the importance of adequate refrigeration of prepared food", the report said. While mild food poisoning is relatively common, it is very unusual for cases to escalate to this severity.

It's immensely satisfying, as doing this against Juventus gives it even more significance. "As I've said, that's football". The player was bought by Atalanta from Genk in 2017 for £5.4million and it's unlikely they'll take less than double that.

Dr Bernard, a licenced practitioner who studies and shares weird medical cases found around the world on his YouTube channel.

Unnamed in case reports, the 20-year-old student used to prepare his meals for the week on a Sunday in an attempt to save time and money.

This is important because sometimes food can be tainted without smelling or looking spoiled.

He said: 'Many people eat pasta, or any other form of noodles, that are leftover for a day or two and they're fine. However, it serves as a reminder to be wary of food left out without being refrigerated. "If the food smells amusing, it's always better to be safe than sorry", he said.

A student has died after eating leftover pasta that he had prepared for himself five days earlier.

Another wrote: "I was eating some suspect leftover food while watching another medical video on YouTube, then this video auto-played".

Food safety experts recommend using a "wide, shallow container", when storing food in the refrigerator.
