Ozzy Osbourne was reportedly treated in an intensive care unit after being hospitalised with flu.

Osbourne, 70, was taken to a private hospital's intensive care facility after his bronchitis became progressively worse, the Daily Mail reported on February 10.

His wife Sharon and their two children Jack and Kelly, along with other relatives, have been trying to keep his spirits up following the last three days.

"This sparked a lot of panic among those closest to him, but doctors reassured everyone he was in the best possible hands".

The person added that the former Black Sabbath singer is a "fighter" and "is getting better day by day".

"The worst is over, he smiles again and can not wait to return to the stage", said the source, as quoted by The Sun.

The 70-year-old has spent the past 11 days in hospital but is due to be released this week.

The rock legend has been transferred to intensive care.

He has been forced to postpone his United Kingdom and European tour as a result of the illness. "It just seems that since October everything I touch has turned to [expletive]", he wrote in a statement on his website.

"First the staph infection in my thumb and now coming down with the flu and bronchitis". I want to apologise to all of my fans who have been so loyal over the years, my band, my crew and to Judas Priest for letting you all down.

He called off a series of dates - including shows in Nottingham, Manchester and Glasgow with Judas Priest- due to health issues. It's being rescheduled right now to start in September. Again, I apologize to everyone. "God Bless. Love you all, Ozzy", he continued.

Taking social media, his wife Sharon Osbourne, previously said: "As some of you may have heard, Ozzy was admitted to hospital following some complications from the flu".

The illness can range in seriousness from mild to life-threatening.
