Chris Pratt says the church he attends is not "anti-LGBTQ" after Ellen Page said it was homophobic.

On Saturday, Page - who came out as gay during a 2014 speech in Las Vegas at a conference for the Human Rights Campaign - doubled down on her comment against Pratt and said the actor should "try and listen" to the LGBTQ community.

The Guardians of the Galaxy took to his Instagram story on Monday (February 11) to respond to the actress' accusations.

'If you are a famous actor and you belong to an organization that hates a certain group of people, don't be surprised if someone simply wonders why it's not addressed, ' said the Halifax, Nova Scotia native, who celebrated her first anniversary with wife Emma Portner last month.

Despite Zoe Church's open doors, pastor Chad Veach, told The New York Times in March he "modeled his church after Hillsong", an institution that bills itself as "a gay welcoming church but we are not a church that affirms a gay lifestyle".

"My values define who I am", he continued.

Pratt added he is not a "spokesman for any church" and that "we need less hate in this world, not more".

"Jesus said, 'I give you a new command, love one another'".

She said: "Oh. K. Um. Hate has no place in my or this world", he concluded his post.

Page would be joined by Leah Remini who called out members of the Church of Scientology including Tom Cruise, John Travolta, Kelly Preston, Laura Prepon, Jenna Elfman, Beck, Ann Archer, Kirstie Alley, Giovani Ribisi, Elizabeth Moss, Michael Pena, and Nancy Cartwright.
