Six police officers fatally shot at a man after finding him slouched over his steering wheel outside a Taco Bell in Vallejo, California, according toBuzzFeed.
Per The Guardian, 20-year-old Willie McCoy, who rapped as Willie Bo, was reportedly found in his vehicle outside of a Taco Bell restaurant on Saturday.
According to Vallejo Police, officers received a call from Taco Bell employees regarding a man slumped over in the driver's seat of a auto at their drive-thru. "The driver did not comply and instead moved his hands downward toward the firearm".
"Fearing for their safety, six officers fired their duty weapons at the driver", investigators said in a statement.
"While officers were still positioning a patrol unit to the rear of the vehicle, and waiting for the [police] supervisor, the driver began to suddenly move and looked at the uniformed patrol officers", said the statement.
However, they were unable to save him and McCoy was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials said the rapper had a weapon on him when they approached his auto in the drive-thru February 9, causing officers to fire out of "fear for their own safety".
The officers involved in the shooting have been placed on administrate leave. Results of an autopsy, not yet available, will include how many times McCoy was hit by gunfire, as well as a toxicology report.
