West Virginia coach Bob Huggins was unavailable for comment.

West Virginia's men's basketball program announced this evening the dismissal of two players from its program.

The statement said that they were released due to a violation of athletic department policies.

The Mountaineers have dismissed senior forward Esa Ahmad, a 6-foot-8 forward out of OH, and senior forward Wesley Harris, a 6-foot-8 product out of Mississippi. The 6-foot-8 forward was benched for two games - November 24 against Valparaiso and January 12 against Oklahoma State - but was regarded as the team's top perimeter defender.

Could Netlix's MARVEL Series Relocate to HULU?
Viewed through the prism of cold, hard business logic, it seemed that fans of these shows were out of luck. Could " Daredevil " be revived by Hulu? All of this stuff is still in the air, of course.

Ahmad was the team's third-leading scorer this season at 12 points per game and the third-leading rebounder at 5.8.

That now leaves West Virginia with 11 scholarship players on the roster, two of which are injured in James Bolden (ankle) and Sagaba Konate (knee). This now makes four starters that are unable to suit up for the Mountaineers. That group of nine - which combines to average 26 points per game - includes five freshmen.

West Virginia's had a rough go of it this season, and it might not get much better.

The Mountaineers are 10-14 on the season and will play Kansas next.
