Per a report from the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the team is signing former Packers and Redskins safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix to a one-year contract.

The Chicago Bears are going all Crimson Tide on the back end of their defense for the 2019 National Football League season.

Clinton-Dix earned consensus All-American recognition at Alabama in 2013, when he had a freshman teammate at cornerback named Eddie Jackson.

A deal might not happen at all, if Parliament still delivers a no on Tuesday's vote on the withdrawal plan. One in three of May's Tories rebelled against her orders and voted down her deal in January.

In Chicago, Clinton-Dix will help replace Amos, who signed a four-year deal worth $37 million in Green Bay. An offer to return to Washington was among his options, but Clinton-Dix ultimately decided on the one-year deal with Chicago, an up-and-coming team coming off a division title.

Clinton-Dix, a first-round pick of the Packers in 2014, was traded to the Washington Redskins at the trade deadline last season. In seven games with the Packers in 2018, Clinton-Dix intercepted three passes and made 27 tackles. In nine games with the Redskins, Clinton-Dix had 66 tackles. He has started 16 games in each of the past four seasons and has 14 career interceptions in five seasons.

Clinton-Dix might not have the consistency that Amos provided, but he has the potential to add more impact plays to a Bears defense that thrives off of turnovers.
