The New Zealand Warriors have responded to Friday's devastating mosque shooting in Christchurch by offering free entry for its season opener against the Bulldogs on Saturday.

"We are all devastated and in shock about what happened in Christchurch yesterday", Warriors CEO Cameron George said.

The entire country of New Zealand is in mourning after the shocking attacks which claimed the lives of 49 and endangered many more, and the Warriors hoped to show fans a mark of respect.

"Let's use tonight's match as an opportunity for the New Zealand public to stand shoulder to shoulder".

The man who claimed responsibility for the shooting said: "he came to New Zealand only to plan and train for the attack". In the video, the killer spends more than two minutes inside the mosque spraying terrified worshippers with gunfire.

"These measures will be evident for all that attend and we do ask for people to arrive earlier than usual". The New Zealand national anthem will also be played.

"Given it's game day, there's a limited number of tickets still available", George added.

It is unsure just how many tickets are left but the allocated tickets will be restricted to manage the crowd. "Our house is your house and anyone is welcome".

Ticketmaster have waived ticketing fees today.
