  • UK Man held after pledging support to NZ terror attack

A man from Greater Manchester who posted comments on social media supporting the mosque massacre in New Zealand has been arrested, police said.

Greater Manchester Police said that officers made the arrest after becoming aware of a post on social media that "made reference and support for the bad events in New Zealand".

Forty-nine people were killed in shootings at two mosques in New Zealand on Friday. The arrest came as The Sunday Times was shown a secret Cabinet Office assessment that says the far right now poses a greater threat than Islamist terrorism in some parts of Britain.
