The Season 8 premiere of HBO's Game of Thrones set a record for viewership across all of its platforms Sunday night. Remember to Like and Share this video on your social media and to Subscribe to Collider for more Game of Thrones videos just like this one. A massive 76.6% of pirated views came from unofficial streams of the episodes, 12.2% came from web downloads, 10.8% from public torrents and 0.5% from private torrents. The report was first shared by The Verge.

Scientists Revive Cells in Dead Pigs’ Brains and Everyone Has Questions
Researchers could use BrainEx to study the effects of injury on the dynamics of the brain, or the effects of certain drugs. Until now, that has been thought to be part of a swift cascade of brain death that permanently destroys cell function.

The Season 8 premiere is no exception to this: the opening credits have some nice new detailing, we get the return of the crossbow that killed Tyrion, and there are many other details besides that might've gone unnoticed. China was next with 5 million views (they air a censored version over there) and interesting in the USA was next with 4 million. Thankfully the ordeal wasn't serious; having to have the King in the North shipped away from Westeros due to a testicular incident isn't quite the kind of twist Game of Thrones fans are used to. On the third spot is the United States with around 4 million illegal views. Some of the reasons for people pirating Game of Thrones could be the lack of availability, higher subscription prices, or simply the unwillingness to pay for a subscription.
