Amnesty global has denounced the latest violent attack that targeted refugees and migrants at a detention center on the outskirts of Tripoli, calling for the protection of civilians and trial of those responsible for this terrible aggression and assault.
The refugees - mainly Eritrean, Sudanese and Nigerian - were taken to a detention centre on Wednesday in Zawiya, a town west of the Libyan capital, where they were at "reduced risk", the UNHCR said in a statement.
The UN says some 3,600 refugees and migrants are held in facilities near the front lines of fighting between the "Libyan National Army" under General Khalifa Haftar and other heavily-armed militias.(ANSAmed).
