British Prime Minister Theresa May will bring her thrice defeated Brexit deal back to Parliament for lawmakers to consider again in the week beginning June 3, a Downing Street spokesman said on Tuesday.
Jeremy Corbyn and Theresa May met in parliament to discuss Brexit for an hour this evening, as the government confirmed that the withdrawal agreement bill would be brought forward in June.
The letter said the Prime Minister can not bind her successor, so any agreement with Labour would be "at best temporary, at worst illusory".
A Labour spokesman said Mr Corbyn made clear the party could not support the Bill without "further movement from the government".
Defeat in the Commons vote would nearly certainly spell the end of Mrs May's tenure since it would bring to an end the parliamentary...
"What she (May) is working to do is to get a deal passed as soon as possible", the spokesman said.
The plan was announced during a meeting between the UK Prime Minister and opposition Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, according to a Downing Street spokesman.
"Tomorrow talks will continue at an official level as we seek the stable majority in parliament that will ensure the safe passage of the withdrawal agreement bill and the UK's swift exit from the European Union".
Parliament usually breaks for the summer in the second half of July although the exact date has not yet been set.
Thirteen of May's former cabinet colleagues as well as Graham Brady, chairman of the 1922 Committee of Conservative lawmakers, wrote to May on Tuesday to ask her not to agree to Labour's demand for a post-Brexit customs union with the EU.
"We believe that a customs union-based deal with Labour will very likely lose the support of Conservative MPs, like us, who backed the Withdrawal Agreement in March (in many cases very reluctantly), and you be unlikely to gain as many Labour MPs to compensate", they said.
"And of course it would absolutely split the Conservative Party. Not unless she comes to a deal with us and frankly, the signs are not good".
"Work is going on to find a voting system that works", says a source.
As positions harden in parliament, with many wanting to either leave the European Union without a deal or to stop Brexit altogether, May has turned to Labour, led by Corbyn, a veteran socialist, to negotiate a way to break the impasse. Vara, who voted for remain in the 2016 referendum, said May's deal "leaves the United Kingdom in a half-way house with no time limit on when we will finally be a sovereign nation".
Meanwhile, Mrs May's chief negotiator Olly Robbins was in Brussels for two days of talks about the possibility of making changes to the Political Declaration - the document setting out the framework for the future UK-EU relationship after Brexit.
