  • Saudis To Boost Crude Delivery To Indian Oil In H2 2019

Saudi Arabian Vice Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman on Thursday accused Iran of ordering the recent drone attacks on Saudi pipeline facilities launched by Yemen's Houthi rebels.

There has been no claim of responsibility for the attack, and neither the UAE nor Saudi Arabia have identified suspected culprits.

In Sanaa, people scrambled to pull 14 wounded from the rubble of a building hit by one of the airstrikes in the al-Raqas neighborhood.

Iranian oil is a lucrative buy for refiners as the Persian Gulf nation provides 60 days of credit for purchases, terms not available from suppliers of substitute crudes - Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, Nigeria, and the US.

Tensions have spiked between Iran and the United States, which sent more military forces to the Middle East, including an aircraft carrier, B-52 bombers and Patriot missiles, in a show of force against what US officials say are Iranian threats to its troops and interests in the region.

The ambassador to Yemen followed up, writing that the Houthis had "made Yemen a platform for Iranian terrorism against Yemenis and their interests, and a tool to attack Saudi Arabia".

If Iran or one of its proxies was involved in the tanker attacks, which did not sink any of the ships or cause fatalities, it was a warning message, experts say.

There was far more clarity about Tuesday's attack on the Saudi East-West pipeline. This is hard, however, because European companies are threatened in the Iran-shops of the United States punitive measures.

The Saudi-led coalition acknowledged in a statement it had struck a number of Houthi targets on Thursday, including what it said were weapons depots and military sites.

Iran has responded to the accelerated US military movement by threatening to abandon limits on uranium enrichment enshrined in the nuclear deal unless the remaining signatories find a way to let it access the economic benefits it expected to reap under the accord.

Foreign Minister Mohammad Zarif told Japanese officials on Thursday in Tokyo that his country's response to the USA actions is within the frameworks of the current nuclear deal and Iran's rights.

A Saudi-led coalition has been at war with the Houthis since 2015, and carries out near-daily airstrikes.

The Trump administration is making moves to counter what they call an increased threat from Iran.

Analysts say the attacks appear created to test the resolve of Washington and its Gulf allies without triggering war by exposing weaknesses in the security of a key oil-shipping route. On Wednesday, citing an "increased threat stream", it ordered its non-emergency government staff to leave Iraq.

Sputnik: Recently in the New York Times there was an article which claimed that Donald Trump didn't really like Bolton's attempt to drive him into a conflict with Iran, do you think that Bolton and Pompeo as well overplay themselves with all this Iran confrontation rhetoric and their actions to start a war?
