Michelle Wie withdraws from U.S. Women's Open with wrist injury

The LPGA will kick off their US Open on May 30th when Ariya Jutanugarn will be aiming to defend her 2018 U.S. Open title.

Michelle Wie announced Friday that she is withdrawing from next week's U.S. Women's Open because of an injury. Wie remains optimistic that she will be back on tour later this year and this withdrawal should be just a minor setback in her recovery.

Wie's U.S. Women's Open run has been a bit all-or-nothing since she won the championship in 2014: 11- MC- WD- T-10.
