  • Qantas Is Making Some Big Changes To Frequent Flyer Points

Qantas is launching a range of new initiatives for Frequent Flyer members over the next 12 months.

Qantas is making it easier for frequent flyers to take that dream trip overseas, investing $25 million in what it says is the biggest overhaul in the 32-year history of its frequent flyer program.

In addition to the award price changes, Qantas is also slashing the carrier fees that it charges alongside award tickets - some by as much as 50 percent.

It's not all good news - with upgrades and business class seats set to require more points but chief executive Alan Joyce said the changes would generally improve how Qantas Frequent Flyer's near 13 million members are recognised and rewarded.

Qantas last month announced its first-ever so-called "points plane" from Melbourne to Tokyo, with all seats on the October flight reserved exclusively for those paying with frequent flyer points.

Qantas reckons its revised Frequent Flyers program will result in customers paying significantly less fees for worldwide reward flights which will also be more readily available.

Other notable initiatives including a new tiered Points Club program to recognise members who earn several points through non-flying related initiatives as well as a Lifetime Platinum status for the airline's most loyal flyers.

D'après la SER , il a visiblement fait son choix depuis et Paris semble plus que jamais très bien placé. Mais aux dernières nouvelles, il aurait pris une première décision retentissante.

MAN: FAR FROM HOME Early Reactions Are Strong
Of course, no Marvel movie is complete without the appearance of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents Nick Fury and Maria Hill, played by Samuel L. Audi vehicle placement in "Spider-Man: Far From Home " includes the all-electric Audi e-tron SUV and the Audi A7 and Audi Q8.

Slated to launch in December 2019, the Qantas Points Club will operate as an adjunct to the Qantas Frequent Flyer scheme and, the airline promises, "unlock flight and travel benefits for non-flying members including lounge access and bonus status credits".

The changes aren't all consumer friendly, sadly.

Worldwide economy flights booked through Qantas would require a slightly lower amount of points under the new regime, but higher class flights will cost more points.

The airline has justified the increase by pointing out it's the first in nearly 15 years.

Further, Qantas will reduce the number of points required for worldwide economy Classic Reward seats by up to 10%. This change is effective immediately. The increases in premium cabins won't take effect until 18 September 2019 - so we advise spending your points before then.

The base tier will require members to earn 150,000 points earned on the ground.

Mr Joyce said the changes followed feedback from customers on a perceived lack of recognition from the airline's frequent flyer program despite their long-term loyalty. Share your thoughts in the comments!
