The only place that will witness total solar eclipse is a small area of Chile and Argentina. The next total eclipse visible in the United Kingdom won't take place until 23 September 2090.

The corona is the Sun's atmosphere, and the only time us earth-dwellers can bask in its glory is during a solar eclipse.

At its longest, the 2090 eclipse will obscure the Sun over Cornwall for about two minutes and 10 seconds. Some locations in Ecuador, Brazil, Uruguay, and Paraguay will be able to observe partial solar eclipse if weather is clear in that part. Millions crammed into a 70-mile (110-kilometer) wide path of totality stretching from coast to coast, where the Moon blotted out the Sun to usher in a spontaneous nightfall.

As totality is ending, a bit of light will peek out from behind the moon, resembling a diamond ring.

Viewers from Chile is expected to have the most handsome view due to less light pollution.

At 4:39 p.m. local time tomorrow, July 2, fish of the south Pacific and some lucky people in southern Chile and Argentina will be plunged into rare afternoon darkness.

A partial lunar eclipse will happen on July 16 and an annular solar eclipse will be seen on December 26.

Cars Left Buried Under Ice After Freak Hailstorm In 30C Heat
Surreal pictures from the scene show cars buried by the ice, in what locals have described as an "unprecedented" level of hail. One of Mexico's busiest cities, Guadalajara, saw thick, slushy ice creep into local homes and businesses overnight.

As per latest reports, it will be first seen over Oeno Island, a British territory in the South Pacific Ocean at 10:24 local time (9:54 PM IST). The Andes and parts of Argentina and Chile are likely to witness the Solar Eclipse. That will make it slightly more hard to find an unobstructed horizon, especially in the mountains, though if there are clear skies (it is July, which is winter in the southern hemisphere, so nothing is guaranteed) expect to see some handsome photos of a totally eclipsed sun sitting just above some mountaintops.

Solar eclipses help scientists study the solar corona: a sheath of hot gases that extends thousands of miles out from the sun's surface.

Once the Sun is totally eclipsed, only the Sun's "crown" can be seen shining in all directions around the Moon. Totality begins in La Serena at 4:38 p.m. local time.

What is so special about this total solar eclipse?

After the events in Chile and Argentina, the next total solar eclipse will be in...

Robert Downey Jr., who stars in the "Iron Man" movies, and "Captain America" actor Chris Evans are also rumored to be in the area for the eclipse, but their presence here has not yet been confirmed.

If the weather wasn't enough to make matters tough, the fact that only one major road, Route 41, leads to the path of totality, a large amount of traffic could mean missing the eclipse altogether.
