Project Kuiper, Amazon veut lancer 3236 satellites pour le Net spatial

Le régulateur des télécoms aux États-Unis va statuer sur la demande d'Amazon visant à placer en orbite basse les satellites nécessaires à son futur service d'accès Internet "global".

Dans le cadre du projet Kuiper, Amazon a donc demandé à la FCC l'autorisation de lancer un total de 3 236 satellites dans l'espace. Sur ces derniers, 784 seront positionnés à 590 kilomètres de la Terre, 1 296 à 610 km et 1 156 à 630 km.
