OPP West provided a chart showing at what ages children require special seating in their tweet.

"Under the new guidelines, kids as old as 4 years old can use rear-facing auto seats if they haven't maxed out of the other (height and weight) requirements because experts agree that keeping kids in vehicle seats for as long as possible is beneficial in the long run", CafeMom reported in August 2018.

Additionally, the auto seat should be in the backseat and not the front, where air bags can severely injure small children.
