SDCC 2019 - Archer Renewed For Season 11

The 11th season of Archer is set to air on FXX in 2020. Creator Adam Reed made it seem previously like season 10, which is now airing, would be the show's last.

It came as somewhat of a shock considering what creator Adam Reed had previously said about the future of the animated series - which follows the eponymous secret agent (voiced by H. Jon Benjamin) and his dysfunctional band of colleagues that includes Lana Kane (Aisha Tyler), Cyril Figgis (Chris Parnell), Cheryl Tunt (Judy Greer), Malory Archer (Jessica Walter), Ray Gillette (Adam Reed), Pam Poovey (Amber Nash), and the mysterious Dr. Algernop Krieger (Lucky Yates).

"We are incredibly excited for our 11th season and look forward to Archer waking up from his coma and returning to a spy world that has continued without him for the past three years", Casey said, according to Variety. The season is called "Archer: 1999", with nods to films like "Alien", "The Abyss", and "2001 A Space Odyssey".

"Archer can't understand how everything moved on without him; he's the center of the universe in his mind".

For the past three seasons, Archer has been in a coma, which has led to a few wild seasons that took place in the character's dream state. The episode was written by Adam Reed.

"So it's about him, and how having him back in the group forces change upon all of them". One burning question now is, will season 11 bring us the series finale?

"It feels brand-new again to me".

Archer season 11 is now without a release date.
