  • Nike rolls out a subscription service for kids’ sneakers

"Nike Adventure Club lets kids regularly swap Nike and Converse shoes for the right-fitting shoe as their feet-and tastes-evolve". The services allows parents to order shoes for children ages 2 to 10 either on a quarterly, bimonthly or monthly basis, by paying monthly fees of $20, $30 or $50, respectively. The service kicks off on August 12. Yahoo Finance's Myles Udland, Emily McCormick, and Ines Ferre discuss.

Nike has good reason to get into the subscription box services game, according to Greg Petro, CEO of predictive analytics company First Insight, who noted that his firm's latest research shows about 25% of consumers now use a subscription box. Kids can outgrow (or ruin) shoes quickly, so having a pair drop into one's mailbox every so often could help parents save time and money, if they opt for the monthly option in particular.

The athletic behemoth this week launched a first of its kind subscription sneaker service for kids that is aimed at parents but features content and products for young athletes. It'll donate or recycle the returned pair. Now, Nike is joining the club.

Onyekuru's parent club, Everton, are believed to have agreed a 15million Euros transfer for the Nigerian exciting winger. He would be hoping to continue his impressive scoring form when Lille face Amiens at Stade de la Licorne on August 17.

In addition to the kicks, the subscription also comes with adventure guides full of outdoor games and activities for kids to do with their parents. The guides are a collaborative partnership between Nike and KaBoom, a national nonprofit focused on encouraging kids to lead active, healthy lifestyles. Nike brought on 10,000 families from its customer base to test it out, and ultimately found that the parents most interested in this program were people who valued convenience and time over price. "As Gen Xers and older Millennials start to have kids, the children's subscription box model will only increase in popularity, including for footwear".

"We're starting to think about what other athletes have problems that could be very easily solved by a subscription", he said.
