Le taux de chômage a légèrement reculé au deuxième trimestre 2019.

Le taux de chômage a reculé de 0,2 point au deuxième trimestre pour s'établir à 8,5% de la population active en France entière (hors Mayotte), poursuivant sa tendance à la baisse, selon les chiffres publiés par l'Insee mercredi. Dans l'ensemble du pays, hors Mayotte, la baisse est aussi au rendez-vous: le taux de chômage atteint 8,5 %, là encore en repli de 0,2 point.

Ces résultats témoignent aussi d'une progression de 0,2 points du taux d'emploi à temps complet qui s'élève à 54,7%. Sur la seule France métropolitaine, le taux de chômage baisse aussi de 0,2 point et s'établit à 8,2 %, ce qui représente 2,4 millions de chômeurs, soit 66.000 chômeurs de moins sur le trimestre. La baisse du taux de chômage d'un trimestre sur l'autre concerne en effet toutes les catégories d'âge. Celui des plus de 50 ans est en baisse de 0,2 pt à 6,1% (-0,2 sur un an). Pour ce qui est de la durée de la période de chômage: 900 000 personnes déclarent rechercher un emploi depuis au moins un an tandis que le chômage de longue durée reste stable à 3,2% de la population active.

L'Insee a recensé 1,5 million de personnes souhaitant un emploi sans être considérées comme des chômeurs par le BIT, parce qu'elles ne sont pas disponibles dans l'immédiat ou qu'elles ne cherchent pas activement. Cette baisse va-t-elle se poursuivre?
