  • Ungrateful son pushes parents' BMW gift into river because he wanted a Jaguar

A 22-year-old man from India was upset that his parents bought him a BMW M3 for his birthday instead of a Jaguar, so he pushed the brand new auto into a river.

Video footage has been doing the rounds showing the auto sinking in a river in Yamunanagar, Haryana state in Northern India.

However, after giving it a second thought, and perhaps realizing what a jerk he was, the man dove in with others to help rescue the vehicle.

Police confirmed to local media that the owner, named only as Akash, had filmed himself pushing the vehicle into the river, reported the Deccan Herald.

However, police said that the young man suffered from mental health issues and has been taking treatment for his "mentally disturbed" condition.

But he was unhappy with the auto, say local police, because it was too small for him and his mates. "He deliberately pushed (the) luxury vehicle BMW into the river".

"He kept insisting that he be given a Jaguar, as a BMW is a little small for him and his friends inside", he said.

News outlet NDTV reports that the young man was given the white BMW 3-Series from his parents for his birthday but it wasn't the vehicle he wanted.

He dad said: "We have two cars, a BMW and a Swift".

However, according to The Times of India, the father denied that his son had demanded a Jaguar, and claimed he had accidentally driven the BMW into the river when he swerved to avoid an antelope. No charges appear to have been filed against the young man.
