  • Scaramucci says he's putting together coalition to stop Trump in 2020

President Donald Trump fired back at former communications director Anthony Scaramucci on the morning of August 19, saying he had "11 days of gross incompetence" (in the White House). He rebuked Trump's "racist tropes" and language on two occasions over the summer, first when the president attacked four Democratic congresswomen of color, then when Scaramucci called out a "linkage" between his immigration rhetoric and the mass shooting in El Paso, Texas.

Like who? Just give me some names.

Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci revealed on Monday that he is assembling a coalition of past members of President Donald Trump's Cabinet in an effort to replace him as the Republican Party's presidential nominee in 2020. Said his wife was driving him insane, "something big" was happening with her. Getting divorced.

This comes after the former official said he was putting together a group of people to speak out against the president.

"He was a mental wreck". This is not a "Never Trump" situation.

Trump didn't mention Scaramucci's CNN interview, during which the Mooch told "New Day" anchor Alisyn Camerota of the president: "The guy's unstable. Everyone inside knows it, everyone outside knows it. Let's see if we can find a viable alternative", said Scaramucci. "Moreover, I've got to get some former Cabinet officials in unity to speak up about it".

Former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci addresses the daily briefing at the White House in Washington, on July 21, 2017.

Scaramucci did not offer any names of people associated with the coalition he said he was constructing, although he predicted there would be a "trove" of people willing to speak out publicly against Trump by "middle to late fall".

Former White House Director of Strategic Communications Mercedes Schlapp recently said Scaramucci is a self-centered man who terrorized young employees during his 11 days with the administration. "He'll likely drop out by March of 2020".
