Sonam Kapoor claps back after being trolled for 'pro-Pakistan' comments

  • Sonam Kapoor Ahuja addresses the Kashmir issue and says she hopes there’s a PEACEFUL way of working things out

But this time, Sonam Kapoor is at the receiving end of criticism for her comments involving the Article 370. "So I think for me now it's better to keep quiet and let this pass because even this too shall pass". This has led to an outburst from Twitter trolls, who were brisk to criticize Sonam regarding playing it safe about Pakistan and she was asked by trolls to move to Pakistan. "I am half Sindhi and half Peshawari". Twisting, misinterpreting and understanding what you want from what someone has to say isn't a reflection on the person who says it but on you. "So self reflect and see who you are and hopefully get a job". She also mentioned that it's very heartbreaking for her that she can't explore part of her culture because of the tense relations.

Sonam Kapoor also revealed her parents Anil and Sunita Kapoor made a decision to name her "Sonam" when they were in Kashmir many years ago: "I was named when my parents went to Kashmir and they were there for a while".

In an answer to a question about the situation, she went on to say, "It's heartbreaking to see where the situation has landed right now and I'm very patriotic. Our country was one country, like, 70 years ago and the fact that there is so much divisive politics at play is really heartbreaking". Expressing her hurt over the ban on Bollywood films in Pakistan she elaborated, "As an artist, you want to be represented everywhere and you want your work to be shown everywhere".

Vic Mensa Believes Jay-Z Will Get Colin Kaepernick Back Into NFL
The player was also not happy that Jay-Z said we are "past kneeling" and that social justice is not about someone's job. Jay-Z was a minority owner of the Brooklyn Nets until 2013.

However, in another tweet, Sonam Kapoor clarified the story behind her name with a news report that says Sonam stands for good luck and that her parents zeroed in on the name as they considered her to be a lucky charm to the family. The film in anyway did not show Pakistan in a negative light at all but the fact that they didn't show the film in Pakistan was heartbreaking for me.

Many viewers criticised her claiming to have a connect with Pakistan. Another said, "How can one speak so confidently on the topics they know nothing about?"
