He said it wasn't clear exactly when Montoya planned to carry out the mass shooting.

A Marriott employee in California allegedly amassed a large arsenal of weapons and tactical gear in hopes of carrying out a mass shooting at his workplace, authorities said Wednesday. Luna said police found a variety of weapons and ammunition in Montoya's home.

Donald Trump promised to tighten background checks on the sale of firearms in the wake of the pair of mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, earlier this month that killed 31 people.

Investigators said they found "multiple firearms, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and tactical gear were seized, including high-capacity magazines and an assault rifle" in Rodolfo Montoya's home.

'We have seen several tragic incidents that have resulted in many lives lost, ' said LBPD Chief of Police Robert G. Luna in a press conference disclosing the arrest.

Montoya was arrested for allegedly manufacturing and distributing assault weapons, possession of an assault weapon, and making a criminal threat.

Bell hasn't played in a game in almost 20 months, a lengthy layoff as a result of his contract dispute with Pittsburgh. Bell has been talking to Gase all summer about the plan for how he'll be used in practice and in preseason games.

Apparently upset about a human resources issue, Montoya allegedly told his co-worker about the plan, and that co-worker reported it to police, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Since last week, Montoya and at least three others around the country have been arrested over threats to commit mass shootings.

During a news conference today, Luna turned and directly addressed Ahmed and said: 'Sir, you saved many lives, not only of your employees but any customers that may have been at the Marriott when this guy chose to show up and carry out his threat'. "A good 100 kills would be nice", one of the messages reportedly read.

His efforts were derailed, however, when his coworker reported the threats to police. Federal authorities in CT last week intercepted a man who "showed interest" in a mass shooting. "[Montoya] is alleged to have said he was going to shoot up fellow employees and people coming to the hotel".

Earlier this month, a friend of McVicker's living in Alabama told an Federal Bureau of Investigation agent in Florida that McVicker was considering opening fire at a church, or killing random people on the street. McVicker was arrested by Indiana State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. It's unclear at this time if Montoya has an attorney of record.

"Thank God that employee chose to bring that information forward", Long Beach Police Chief Robert G. Luna said at a press conference. Montoya is being held on a $500,000 bail at the Long Beach City Jail in Long Beach, California.
