These meteors are fast, whizzing 66 kilometers into the Earth's atmosphere, and can leave glowing "trains" or incandescent bits of debris that last for several seconds to minutes, according to the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). In fact, you probably shouldn't because those meteors will have short trails and be harder to see.

The Orionid meteor shower will peak on Monday and Tuesday, sprinkling remnants of Halley's Comet in Earth's atmosphere to create a dazzling display.

The "Orionid" meteor shower will illuminate the northern hemisphere sky including Qatar tomorrow.

The Orionids, considered one of the most lovely meteor showers, will peak on Monday and Tuesday night, astronomers said. But there's no danger of these bright meteors colliding with Earth.

The annual Orionid meteor showers is set to peak in the early morning hours of October 22.

Space agency NASA said: "The Orionids are viewable in both the Northern and Southern hemispheres during the hours after midnight".

Generally, residents do not need astronomical instrumentations to observe meteor showers, and so residents will be able to view the Orionid meteor showers with naked eye from places without light and environment pollutions (pure sky) and darker places. Come prepared with a sleeping bag, blanket or lawn chair.

But the good news is you will not need a telescope or binoculars for the event. Astronomers call this the "radiant point", which more precisely is close to an open cluster of stars called Collinder 69.

NASA added: "Be patient - the show will last until dawn, so you have plenty of time to catch a glimpse".

However, trying to locate the constellation tonight is not part of a successful meteor-hunting trip.

The meteors radiate from the well-known Orion constellation, but you don't have to look in the direction of the constellation to see them.

"It is actually better to view the Orionids from 45 to 90 degrees away from the radiant".
