Chelsea manager Frank Lampard insists that summer arrival Christian Pulisic is still part of the "big picture" at Chelsea, adding that the USMNT worldwide needs to be protected at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues ran out 1-0 winners at Stamford Bridge, stretching their winning streak in England's top division to three games, with second-half substitute Pulisic setting up Marco Alonso for the victor.

He remained in Germany last season before joining up the Blues this summer.

The United States worldwide has been used sparingly by the Blues over recent weeks, with the 21-year-old struggling to make the impact expected of him in England.

The USA worldwide has managed just 10 minutes of playing time in the past four league games and he was once restricted to a bench role against Newcastle United.

Chelsea will look to continue its fine recent form as it hosts Newcastle United on Saturday.

The 21-year-old American is the club's third most expensive acquisition (£58m) behind Álvaro Morata (£59m) and Kepa Arrizabalaga (£71.6m). Given his high-profile reputation, and with Eden Hazard swapping the British capital for Spain's, many felt Pulisic would be a regular starter under Lampard.

Warm air shrinks ozone hole to smallest size on record
Scientists expect the hole to continue to dissipate in the coming weeks before closing completely - for now. But when temperatures are warmer, these clouds don't form, which limits ozone destruction.

Lampard was keen to stress that Pulisic himself is still only young and insisted that he sees him in the "big picture" for Chelsea's long-term future.

Abraham, 22, has netted two braces and a hat-trick in the Premier League this season and I fancy him to fill his boots again. "He's a bit of a hot topic because of his price tag and global status, but he's just turned 21".

The frustration of getting yanked in the second half of the USA national team's historic loss to Canada didn't last long for Christian Pulisic.

"Everyone has got a little bit carried away with the short term". The long term is that he's come here and he's just turned 21 and he's played like he did today. "It's not the end story". Lampard also noted that he is happy to see David Silva succeed and for all the recognition that the player has earned over the years.

'With Christian coming here, we have to protect him for that fact because he's young.
