India's most versatile and iconic singer Lata Mangeshkar was rushed to Breach Candy hospital due to viral chest congestion, on Monday. "She is stable and recovering", said the statement. "Lata Mangeshkar ji had a viral chest congestion".

"Lataji is stable. Her parameters are good". God give her the strength to come out of this crisis & continue to be in our midst. She is suffering from severe lung infection. We could have treated her at home, but we chose to get her to hospital. She is still in emergency clinic, her condition is steady at this point.

However, the veteran singer's PR team in a statement on Tuesday said she was "stable".

In a career spanning over seven decades, the Indore-born Mangeshkar has lent her voice to thousands of songs in over 1,000 Hindi films as well as in various regional and foreign languages. In 2007, France, too, conferred its highest civilian award-Officer of the Legion of Honour-on her.

A few days back, Lata Mangeshkar, who is active on Twitter had wished Padmini Kolhapure for her upcoming movie "Panipat".
