Tribunal de La Haye : un accusé s'est suicidé en buvant du poison

Ce mercredi 29 novembre, se tenait l'audience du procès devant le Tribunal pénal international pour l'ex-Yougoslavie à La Haye à l'encontre de six ex-dirigeants et chefs militaires des Croates de Bosnie. L'audience a ensuite été suspendue. "Praljak n'est pas un criminel", de sortir une fiole et d'en ingérer le contenu devant les caméras. Alors que des responsables du tribunal s'affairaient autour de Praljak, le juge président Carmel Agius a immédiatement ordonné la suspension de l'audience et les rideaux entourant la salle du tribunal ont été tirés. Tout juste avant, le tribunal venait de confirmer la condamnation à 25 ans de l'ex-dirigeant des Croates de Bosnie, Jadranko Prlic. Son avocat a affirmé qu'il s'agissait de poison.

Avant l'annonce de la mort de Slobodan Praljak dans les médias croates, la présidente avait interrompu "en urgence" un voyage en Islande. Une enquête a par ailleurs été ouverte par la police néerlandaise. L'énoncé du jugement contre les autres accusés a repris dans une autre salle. Cet ancien chef militaire des Croates de Bosnie était accusé de crimes de guerre.
