"WWE Tough Enough 3" victor Matt Cappotelli - who bravely fought through two rounds of cancer - has passed away. this according to his wife.

Cappotelli had previously won the Tough Enough III wrestling reality competition series.

Cappotelli's wife posted the following to the Team Capp Facebook group.

"Today my love-my strong, sweet, attractive love-took his last breath at 3:30 a.m. and went Home to be with Jesus...exactly one year after his brain surgery", Lindsay Cappotelli wrote.

I know that it has to be hard for him though, because like me, he's kept the hope that there would be something that would help him survive this. Regardless, he kept fighting until the very end. Still, Matt stated that "it will in no way deter me from continuing my fight". I had the privilege of working with and getting to know Matt during my time in OVW.

Lindsay and Matt had been married for 12 years.
