Sung Hyun Park, the sixth-ranked player in the world, outlasted a three-person playoff, defeating So Yeon Ryu and Nasa Hataoka on the second extra hole to win her second major title and fourth career victory on the LPGA Tour.
Ryu, who won last year's ANA Inspiration and the 2011 US Women's Open, took her first title of the year two weeks ago at the LPGA Meijer Classic and hoped to move one step closer to a career Grand Slam.
With it, ... she's on the coattails of the world number one - and fellow South Korean - Park Inbee.
The 24-year-old said she drew upon her experience of winning last year's U.S. Women's Open and added, "Late in the round today, I kept thinking about what I did to win the U.S. Women's Open last year".
So Yeon Ryu rolled in a 15-footer on the 18th hole to take a three-stroke lead into the final round.
Aditi, who is playing only her second year on the LPGA Tour, had four bogeys, three of them in a row on the back nine from 12th to 14th, and three birdies.
With Ryu lying on the green, it seemed Park would be fortunate to get away with a bogey.
