A woman pulled a gun from her glove compartment and shot a carjacker in the head as he drove away in her SUV with her and her two toddlers inside in North Texas. That's when the protective mother jumped into the vehicle and yelled at the man to stop. At that point she was able to open her glove box, pull out a gun, and shoot the man in the head.

Wright crashed into a light pole and was later taken to a local hospital. She got into the vehicle and told him to leave.

"I'm not a killer, but I do believe in defending what's mine", Booker-Hicks said.

Booker-Hicks then ran back into the parking lot and got in the back seat of the auto, where her 2-year-old and 4-year-old sons were sitting, according to Fox4. He's been charged with two counts of unlawful restraint and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, police said.

According to CBS DFW, the mother said she had just put the gun in the SUV just hours earlier after her husband helped her with reloading. She just wanted to stop him.

She spoke with Fox 4, but asked that the outlet not show her face.
