Roger Federer's quest for a ninth Wimbledon crown gained momentum with a flawless 6-4, 6-4, 6-1 second-round win over the Slovakian world No 73 Lukas Lacko in 89 minutes.
In total, he lost just nine of 61 points on his serve and broke Lacko five times, including a dominant forehand victor to claim the match win. In the third set, Federer broke Lacko in the fifth game to take a commanding 4-1 lead before winning the final two games to finish off the match.
Federer wasn´t the only former champion in peak form on Centre Court as seven-time victor Serena routed Bulgarian qualifier Viktoriya Tomova 6-1, 6-4.
